BRC Clamp stands for Board Retaining Coupler / Board Retaining Clamp. It is used to secure scaffolding boards or planks to the scaffold tube/transom and prevent the boards from shifting, sliding or lifting.

The 48.3 mm tube size is particularly common for standard tube-and-fitting scaffolding. BRC clamps are manufactured in different heights to match the thickness of the scaffold board.
